The Heaton
Community Pub
The Heaton is a well‑loved pub and restaurant on 474 Didsbury Road in Heaton Mersey, Stockport SK4 3BS, sitting in one of the four Heatons — a residential suburb with close links to Manchester and a strong community feel. The building has roots going back decades, originally known under earlier names such as the Frog & Railway before being acquired and refurbished by JW Lees in 2018, giving it a refreshed identity as a modern local hub in the heart of Heaton Mersey’s high street. It’s become a familiar meeting point for locals, families and commuters, blending traditional pub culture with a community‑oriented vibe in an area known for its gardens, independent shops and suburban charm.
Our Amenities
The Heaton serves a blend of real ales, lagers, wines and cocktails alongside a varied food menu that mixes classic pub favourites with more international options, including English and Indian dishes — from fish and chips to curries and steaks. It’s open seven days a week with lunch, dinner and Sunday roasts on offer, and recent food hygiene ratings are generally satisfactory. The pub has a large open interior, ample parking to the rear, a spacious beer garden for outdoor drinks, and shows live sport on TV. It’s family‑friendly and dog‑friendly, popular for relaxed meals, social gatherings and casual meet‑ups with friends or workmates.
