CHRISTMAS IN A GLASS

Every family has its Christmas traditions.

Take the plum pudding; for many, it’s a Christmas essential. It dates back to the Victorian era and was a firm favourite of Charles Dickens. On Stir Up Sunday, each family member stirred the mixture from east to west to bring the family luck in the coming year. And it was customary to hide several small trinkets in the mixture. Whether rich or poor, Victorians came to expect a pudding as the finale to their Christmas Day meal.

For the JW Lees family, our Christmas family rituals start with the return each festive season of our Plum Pudding Ale. Our locals have come to expect it. Named in honour of the plum pudding and similarly fruity, it’s nothing less than Christmas in a glass.
