FAQ
How many pubs does JW Lees own?
JW Lees has around 150 pub, including 50 managed pubs, inns and hotels. The other 100 of our pubs are tenanted pubs. Our pubs are located in the North West of England and North Wales.
What are the differences between managed and tenanted JW Lees pubs?
Managed pubs are owned and run by JW Lees itself, with staff employed directly by the company. You can expect greater consistency among our food offerings, alongside our recognisable signature look. They typically offer a wider or more curated range of JW Lees beers, including seasonal and Boilerhouse brews. Our managed pubs are perfect for those looking for the JW Lees signature brand, with consistent décor, service, and menu.
Tenanted pubs, also known as Pub Partners, are let out by JW Lees to independent licensees (tenants) who run them as their own business. While you can always expect a number of JW Lees beers on the bar, food offerings vary and often include bespoke dishes. In tenanted pubs, the exact beer line-up depends on the tenant. Our Pub Partner sites are perfect for those seeking a “local” pub feel, as tenants bring their own ideas, creative flair, and local personality.
