Dog Friendly Hotels in the UK
Most of our inns and hotels are pet friendly and whilst there’s a small fee, you’ll save on boarding kennels and being separated from your loyal companion. Taking your dog away adds to the fun, they love being by the sea, running free in the countryside and then snuggling up close in the evening, so a welcoming country inn is the perfect base. We have a limited number of rooms able to accommodate your four-legged friend, so please give us as much notice as possible.

Canine Menu
“We walked in with our dog and were made very welcome in the conservatory. They even offered treats for our pup. Great food, tasty burgers and pies, and really friendly staff who looked after us all evening.”

At our JW Lees Inns & Hotels, we don’t just welcome humans, dogs get a treat too. That’s why we offer Canine Menu goodies, from tasty chews to upcycled spent grain biscuits.
Everything’s made to be safe, simple, and delicious, so your four-legged friends feel right at home.
Providing dogs with safe, delicious food makes the stay more enjoyable for everyone, turning a simple trip away into a proper holiday experience.
Dog-Friendly Holiday Essentials
1. Leads, Harnesses, Collars & Tags
The basics matter. Leads and harnesses keep dogs safe around livestock, while collars with name tags get them home fast. Microchips help, GPS trackers help more. Adding accommodation details to a spare tag brings peace of mind.
2. Food, Treats, Bowls & Water
Routine is king. Pack normal food to avoid tummy trouble, plus favourite treats. Collapsible or eco bowls save space. Fresh water is essential on longer wanders.
3. Coat, Fleece, Bed & Blankets
Country weather has moods. A raincoat or fleece keeps things cosy, while a familiar bed or blanket adds comfort when surroundings feel new.
4. Towels
Mud, rain and sea spray come as standard. A personal towel helps with clean-ups and protects cars and soft furnishings.
5. Toys & Comfort Items
Familiar favourites keep dogs settled. Chew toys, balls or calming companions help fill quiet moments while others unwind.
6. Grooming & First Aid Kit
Country walks bring burrs, mud and the odd mishap. Pack a brush, shampoo, tick remover, sting relief and dog-safe antiseptic for quick fixes.
7. Documents & Contact Details
A little organisation goes a long way. Keep vet contacts, insurance details and medical notes easy to reach.
8. Poop Bags
Biodegradable only. Corn-starch options break down properly and help protect paths, wildlife and views.
