Gullivers
Manchester's best
grassroot music venue
Iconic Manchester Music venue
Located on Oldham Street in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Gullivers is an iconic, characterful pub with roots dating back to 1865. Originally a Wilson’s house called The Albert Hotel, later The Grenadier, it became part of the J.W. Lees family in the 1970s and has proudly carried the Gullivers name ever since. The building’s classic green-tiled frontage, lively bar, and authentic Northern charm make it a true local landmark. Steeped in history yet buzzing with modern energy, it’s a place where old Manchester meets the city’s creative edge.
Our Amenities
Beyond the bar, Gullivers is a hub for live entertainment and community spirit. Inside, you’ll find two dedicated performance spaces; the 110-capacity Ballroom upstairs, ideal for gigs and theatre, and the 35-capacity Lounge downstairs, perfect for comedy and spoken word. The pub regularly hosts live music, comedy nights, and cultural events, working with both established and up-and-coming promoters. As a J.W. Lees pub, it serves a strong range of cask ales and local craft brews, and can also be hired for private events, offering a welcoming, creative space that’s as versatile as it is vibrant.
