JW LEES ANNOUNCES INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED COLLABORATION

JW Lees, Manchester based family brewer, have announced today that they are Gold Supporters of Manchester International Festival (MIF).   The sponsorship means that the brewer will be the sole drinks supplier at Festival Square during MIF17 which runs from 29th June to 16th July in Albert Square, as well as having branding featured throughout the event.

MIF and JW Lees are also running a competition with Manchester Metropolitan University to design the presentation of the festival lager and festival beer that are both being brewed by JW Lees. The festival beer and lager will be exclusively available in Festival Square.

William Lees-Jones, Managing Director at JW Lees said: “MIF is famous for its firsts and memorable collaborations and this is a memorable collaboration for us. To be involved in an internationally renowned event, one that epitomises what is best about Manchester and the UK is a privilege and we are proud that MIF wanted to pour our drinks at the heart of the event. “We’ve always been amazed by the MIF commissions and to be involved in an event with the likes of Arcade Fire, Karl Hyde from Underworld and Yael Bartana is an honour.” Christine Cort, Managing Director, “It’s a genuine pleasure to welcome JW Lees and their product range to the heart of the Festival – Festival Square. Their can-do attitude is incredibly refreshing.”

MIF are renowned for commissioning new work, from Kenneth Branagh performing Macbeth in a deconsecrated Victorian church to Massive Attack v Adam Curtis in a derelict train depot. Last year JW Lees famously collaborated with Cloudwater Brew.Co to produce a special beer for Manchester Beer Week, a collaboration that surprised many but produced an outstanding beer.
