JW LEES BREWERY TOPS SURVEY OF PUB COMPANIES

1st March 2022

Manchester brewery is ranked No.1 out of 20 leading UK pub companies in the KAM Media Licensee Index.

For the third, consecutive time, an independent survey of licensees rating pub companies and family breweries, has found that JW Lees scored highest; with their tenants very satisfied with the quality and depth of support received.   JW Lees were rated top in every category, including the all-important overall rating. Additionally, in what has been a difficult period for the pub industry, for both brewers and pub operators alike, JW Lees received a score of 9.8 out of 10 for their continued Covid 19 support.

William Lees-Jones, Managing Director, JW Lees, said; “The Licensee Index has given JW Lees an essential benchmark in terms of how we support our Pub Partners better.  We have been challenged in terms of our own assumptions about what is important and, as with everything in life, what gets measured gets done.  We are delighted that we’ve been top for the third time and that the continued efforts of the team have improved the service and support received by our Pub Partners.”

The Licensee Index is an annual, independently conducted, research study of UK licensed and tenanted publicans. It identifies the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for individual pub companies, based on how they are viewed by their licensees.

Katy Moses, Founder and Managing Director, KAM Media, said; “This year’s TLI results are very encouraging, overall we saw an increase in ratings in 43 out of 47 criteria – a reflection of the hard work and support given by pub companies to their licensees during a very difficult period. It’s also good to note that Licensees are increasing optimistic about the future and as we come out of the pandemic, the level and quality of support offered by parent pub companies will be crucial so, the positive results we’re seeing this year bode well for the future of the industry”

The KAM Media Licensee Index measures key performance indicators of pub company services, including communication, support and advice, quality of BDM, innovation, financial support and more.
