The Spread Eagle in Lymm Village reopens following major refurbishment
JW Lees is proud to announce the successful reopening of the Spread Eagle, its cherished village pub on Eagle Brow in the heart of Lymm, following a refurbishment programme representing a £186,000 investment. The pub reopened its doors on Friday 24th July, welcoming familiar faces and first-time visitors alike.
A landmark in the centre of the village with its distinctive white frontage, the Spread Eagle has been thoughtfully refreshed from the ground up. Refurbishment works encompassed the snug, taproom, bar and dining areas, with new fixtures, fittings, furniture and décor throughout. The pub’s real fires and multi-room layout have been retained and celebrated, while the courtyard beer garden to the rear provides a sheltered spot for warmer days, ensuring the Spread Eagle remains a true village destination for food, drink and good company.

About the refurbishment
The resulting space strikes a considered balance: contemporary in its presentation yet rooted firmly in the warmth of a traditional village inn. At the bar, guests will find an outstanding lineup of JW Lees beers, brewed at the Greengate Brewery in Middleton, including Original Lager, Manchester Craft Lager and Stout on keg, alongside Bitter, Manchester Pale Ale and Founders Ale on cask. The rotating guest selection features seasonal ales and small-batch releases from The Boilerhouse microbrewery, complemented by the addition of beer flights. The Spread Eagle serves a menu of hearty pub food, a Pub Lunch menu served Monday to Friday, midweek deals and traditional Sunday roasts.
The refurbishment was designed by Louise Thorpe of the JW Lees Property Team and delivered by principal contractors Silverglide, whose combined expertise has brought the character of the building to the fore in every detail.
Lymm Village's cosy community pub
Ideally located at 47 Eagle Brow, moments from the Grade I-listed Lymm Cross and the cobbled village centre, the Spread Eagle is a natural stopping point for those exploring the area. Whether walking the towpath of the Bridgewater Canal, circling Lymm Dam and the Dingle, or joining the Trans Pennine Trail.
Community remains central to the pub’s identity, underpinned by an active programme of events including quiz nights and a function room well used by village groups throughout the year.
