Oldham Athletic announce an exciting new partnership with JW Lees
Oldham Athletic are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with JW Lees.
Building on a relationship steeped in tradition, the agreement is shaped by the work of both organisations within the local community and beyond. A seventh-generation family run brewery, JW Lees are an historic local business who have set the benchmark for local enterprise, making this a hugely important and valued partnership. As part of the agreement, the name of JW Lees will return to the Latics shirts, having featured on some of the most iconic kits in the club’s history during the 1980s. The name of the brewery will adorn the back of the first team shirts throughout the 2024/25 season.
The initial three-year partnership is with a view to a long-term agreement and will see JW Lees take the pouring rights around Boundary Park and in the Supporters’ Bar, ensuring an excellent quality and range of drinks at all home matches. Oldham Athletic Head of Commercial and Business Development Manager, Dale Harris, said: “This is a significant agreement for the club and it is a huge privilege to have an historic local business partner with us in this way. “In four years’ time, JW Lees will be celebrating their 200th anniversary and in that time they have done so much to benefit our local area on many different levels.
“As well as being a hugely successful, family-run business, JW Lees undertake important work for the benefit of our local community and we look forward to working with them in these areas.
“This agreement is very much with a view to developing a partnership that will encompass the work of our club in a number of areas.
“By taking the pouring rights at Boundary Park, JW Lees will provide an excellent quality and range of drinks for supporters, and we will also be working with them to introduce initiatives in order to further develop the matchday experience.”
William Lees-Jones, Managing Director of JW Lees, added: “We’ve been big supporters of Oldham Athletic for 50 years since 1974 and so we’re delighted to be continuing to do so under the Rothwell family’s ownership of the club.”
JW Lees is a brewery company, founded in 1828 by retired cotton manufacturer John Lees.
