Morrisons toast The Governor

From August, The Governor ale will be available in all Morrisons stores. The all malt British Ale has been created by Marco Pierre White, and brewed by JW Lees, an independent family brewer, in Middleton, Manchester.

This is the first time the ale has been available within the off-trade on a national basis, as it’ll be on the shelves of all 450 Morrisons stores.

Marco Pierre White said "I’m absolutely delighted. Morrisons have some really exciting ideas and I’m looking forward to matching the ale with food, as well as creating some recipes involving the beer."

This moreish ale is brewed with all British ingredients, including Goldings hops from Hereford and the finest water from the Lake District. With a rich, amber colour it has a malty taste and fragrant hoppy finish.

The Governor is also currently available via Punch Taverns and National Drinks Distributors on draught, as well as in JW Lees pubs as well. Wetherspoons have confirmed a listing for the ale in the Autumn of this year too.

Marco will also be attending the Liverpool Food and Drink festival this year too. As The Governor will be available at the Northwest event running in September, so too will Marco. Come down on the 3rd September to have a chat with the man himself, over a pint of this fine ale.
